吕红亮，教授，博士生导师。现任四川大学历史文化学院院长。研究兴趣为史前考古，在区域上特别聚焦于青藏高原、中国西南山地，对东南亚考古与南亚考古亦有浓厚兴趣。近年主要从事雅鲁藏布江中游地区考古发掘与研究。出版有专著《跨喜马拉雅的文化互动：西藏西部史前考古研究》，在《美国科学院院报》《考古学报》《考古》等专业刊物发表论文 30 余篇。

Prof. Lü received his PhD from Sichuan University (SCU) and currently holds an appointment as a professor at CTS and the Department of Archaeology at SCU. He has been a research assistant at the Center for Chinese Archaeology and Art, the Chinese University of Hong Kong (2003–06), he also was a visiting scholar at the Harvard-Yenching Institute (2009–10) and at the Macdonald Institute for Archaeology of Cambridge University (2012). He has actively directed and participated in archaeological surveys and excavations in Tibet, Qinghai, Sichuan, Guizhou, and Laos. His research focuses on the prehistory of southwestern China, especially on the early settlement of Tibet, early society on the Tibetan Plateau, and modern human behavior of the upper Pleistocene. Prof. Lü was recognized as a Distinguished Young Archaeologist of China in 2015. He has published extensively on Tibetan archaeology in many edited volumes and journals, including Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, Archaeological Research in Asia, Kaogu Xuebao, Kaogu, and Nanfang Minzu Kaogu. He has coauthored a book on Tibetan archaeology, and he is the author of Trans-Himalayan Interaction: An Archaeological Study of the Prehistory of Western Tibet published by Science press (Kexue chubanshe) in 2015. He also edited a collection of translations on the prehistory of southwestern China and Southeast Asia. His current research and writing projects focus on the transition from upper Paleolithic to Neolithic in the Karst region of southwestern China and on the origin of pastoralism of Tibet.
